« on: Jan 29, 2013, 12:02:16 PM »
On level kits what size is the max i can go WITHOUT effecting any stock components. i want to lift the front but not get longer axels and any other things. i have a 3 inch lift was told i have to do mods to fit it and not cause probs. if thats the case ill go lower. thanks for the advice.

so is it a leveling kit or a lift kit. leveling kits are just spacers on the front suspension. lift kits require some modification.

To level the truck, the front needs to be lifted 1.5". Max front end lift you can go without mods is 2.5" for a 4x4 model. Anything more you'll want to consider a diff drop kit. Any height you go, I'd suggest replacing the factory CV boot clamps with standard hose clamps from home depot.  If you go with spacers, go with the spacers that fit within the coil pack. Not just on top.  If you are not wanting to affect stock components, leave it....  ;)

2.5" spacer in a 2wd works. thats what i have in my 2004 double cab. works great. then again its just a tow vehicle. ANYTHING bigger will affect the upper balljoint in the upper control arm. if you want to go bigger might as well go with replacement coilvers from fox, king, icon,  or SAW. and get the 1.0" - 1.5" uniball upper control arm so it'll fully cycle correctly without breaking the top half of the spindle. which ive see many times.
Let's put a smile on that face!
