93 4runner Buildup

This is my project, so i thought i would share as i dont see too many 4runners on the board really.

I purchased this truck november of 2003, with a freshly rebuilt motor. the truck has 195,xxx miles on it. currently i have a 4 inch suspention lift.

The build up includes:
- Solid axle swap with Leaf springs
- 3/4 elliptic leaf sprung rear suspention swap from the coils.
- TRD e-locker in the rear
- Detroit TrueTrack locker in the front
- 4.88 gears
- 35" tires, not 100% decided on width or tire model.
- Bilstein 5150 shocks, with long travel mounts.


I will keep this updated with pictures as i go along.

I have modified a 4runner axel housing to fit the TRD locker, this involves removing 3 of the studs, re drilling and tapping new stud hole locations, and grinding out some of the housing so that the locking mechanisim will fit. you also have to make a little more clearnance on the bowl part of the axel housing.

the Guy that is helping me with all this also had some spare time and cut gussets for the axel to give it a little more strength.
