just had a thought... I know that you guys are getting gnarley travel with the 63" Rear CHevys but what if I used TeraFlex Revolver shackles too??? I think the CJ/YJ shackles will fit or is that a way bad idea?

I love the chevy's that I have now, they do flex great.
From what I've heard from 90% of the guys on PBB revolvers are :pokinit:

maybe if you ran a traction bar it would be ok, but i think there are better ways of doing it.

i'm thinkin about throwin 84 rears up front after i add a few leafs and i've got 6 inch shackles..... but am i going to have steering issues??? i took 89 rears and 2 leafs outta 54 inch chevy pack and cut them down 5-8 inches... rearched them and used 6 inch shackles and those things ROCK!!!! for free as well!  are the 48 inch rears gonna work up front????

depends on how you mix em
Heres a question, I have a set of rears from my 86 runner and a set of fronts from my 84, how would you mix them? I am going to be running a drop hanger and histeer. want to clear 33's with good flex and no trimming

twistedtoy92

well i would take the rears and take two leaves out of the fronts and cut them down to step down equally as the bottom two leaves, and you could re-arch them so they all have the same arch and longer life....... the extra leafs provide more support during full compression.... are your fronts stock??? you might not even need to mix them because i run 84 rears upfront and i added two step down leafs for more support.... and i am running 35's no problems but i also have a two inch body lift so you'd be good with rears and 33's, especially with a drop bracket and 6 inch shackles!!!  right now i can put a tire on a 40 inch rock without lifting a single tire

I have two and a half sets holding my front end up.

82 HiLux

heres a side pic a few months ago right after i put my rear springs upfront.

heres a pic of the front passenger side under compression, they just go past flat

this is before shock hoops, with shitty shocks
all i did was cut the springs to length so it looked good...i used 1st 2nd and 3rd leaves from my 82 rear packs and 86 4runner rear packs.  made packs with 6 leaves and they are real soft.  the front end dives when i brake, i need to make some type of anti-wrap system for the front axle, and the rear too!

those are 33s....the rear springs moved my axle forward about 2 inches.  looks like a ton

by the way my truck is white now
