trimming and axle location determines tire size..not lift. 4" springs and 5.5" shackles...dont forget bumpstops..that will determine shock size..also whats your leafs flex obviously..

You might look into 63" chevies on the back.  I love the way mine sits.  I am running RUF on mine however. I could run 37s easy but I'll stick with my 35s.

To answer some of your questions.

I wouldn't get the 5" kit i feel that's a little too much lift.
I did an sas with the complete trail gear 4" kit. And then i have 63" Chevy springs out back with 2" blocks to sit level.

With that said the 4" kit is plenty tall for 37".

I still hammered my firewall back a little bit and trimmed my fenders for extra clearance.

The trail gear 4" springs seemed to wear out pretty quickly and sagged really badly.   When you first put the new springs under the truck it will sit taller than it will once it gets broken in.  After a while i swapped out the top 3 leafs in each pack to allpro springs, it made my front axle move forward a bit and made my shackle angle verticle. :/  but it still droops further, than. The old setup.

Another option is to build your own front leaf pack with rear springs up front.  Thats what ill do next time.

So since those springs sag after a while should i look into HD springs? Or just go with allpro? I've been getting trail gear parts cause i don't have to order them or pay for shipping i just got pick it up. I also get a little discount

Dingman.

I dont know what the real difference is between the HD springs and the not HD springs

Like i said if i did it again i would do rears up front

HD springs have an extra leaf in them.

I would say at least a 6" SAS. Move the front axlw forward about a .5" to 1".

On my 91, I've got 3" springs with 1" body lift.  Works well with 35s.  Without the body lift, they would rub.

Are you messing with this guy or are you serious?  No way on 6" lift springs.  He isn't looking to run 42"ers, just 37" tires.

I'd say Run Toyota rears-up-front (RUF) pack With your hanger and shackles, or take the best advice given so far by bigarms23 and get All Pro 4" springs, hanger, etc. and enjoy breaking in those springs to settle down over your 37s eventually.

If I had your set up,  I would go for a blazeland longtravel IFS kit with an ARB locker up front, keep your 35s, while you can, then go for the SAS later.  SASes are cool--just think it would cool to see something's little different too

I have the all pro 5" extreme lift.  Its great! It actually comes out to like 9 inches after the shackles and a small body lift. A little too tall. Wish i got a 3". Those few extra inches closer to the earth really helps at angle!!!! If i had the extra cash id go get new 3" springs

4 inch lift is fine.

I much perferred a lower lift and trim the body to clear than just having a high lift to clear 37.

Stay away from body lift....

Good advice, why would you body lift what can be :flamer:

MRHilux87

You shouldn't pick your lift height strictly by your tire size!  If you care about your toyota "sitting good" or you want it to look cool then sure add a body lift or get some 5 inch springs.  If you are not vain and care more about how it functions, get 3' lift, or 4 at most and cut your fenders.  Or if you don't want to throw away money use chevys and RUF.  Cut your fenders or use bump stops.  Big lifts are stupid and for mall crawlers.

I have a 81 pickup and want to clear 35s with flex room
What size lift would be good? Or should I put the rear
Springs in the front and just put some Chevy 63s in the
Rear? . I was thinking of getting an all pro 5 Inch . Will
That be top heavy ?
Thanks for your thoughts

Do the RUF and chevies, or All-Pro 4" max IMHO.

Also, don't forget Ford F150s as a good option besides the Chevies for the rear.  They are shorter and have a bit more arch.  Tons of info on all options online.

TheChewMaster

I have a set of 5" rears. I hate them, too big. I even think the 4's are pretty big, but will do. I suggest the advice that says no to the 5's

However anyone want to trade their set of 4" rears for a set of 5's?
