My girlfriends dad is wanting to sale his 95 truck because it is using coolant. I'm thinking about buying it but not sure how much to offer him it has 180k miles ac heat says everything works good just low on power and in the last couple months started using coolant. Just looking for help on what to offer him for the truck.

He said he had to add about a half gallon so I'm thinking maybe head gasket.

Pull the oil dipstick, check to seenif the coolant is mixed in the oil, and whennit is running check to see if you can smell coolant out the exhaust or exssive amount of steam, you can pull all the spark plugs and check them too
