If you could do a full write up that would be sweet!
I'm buying one soon and want to know what I am getting in to.

So, pictures of every step of the install?

Good luck on the install. Mine was a piece of cake. Just don't forget to put the thrust washers back in there. One of mine was still stuck on a spider gear and almost didn't put it in there. Found it missing when I took the measurement. Which by the way is really important. If it's too wide or too narrow it won't allow the springs to lock and un-lock the assembly properly. You'll enjoy your truck a lot more now.  :usa:

It is alot cheeper to buy aussie lockers from northridge4x4.com than straight from the company. I paid $249 with no tax and free shipping and it was at my door in two days.just my  :twocents:

i put one in the rear of mine over a year ago and have had no trouble at all, the only thing that bugged me was when i was new, it would unlock around turns but i guess it got broke in and now it is doing just fine, cant here it unless the windows are down and the radio is off, cant even tell if its there or not
on the trails it works like a charm, never had a problem with it unlocking prematurly even with the pedal to the floor, 100% satisfied
mine was $250 or so to the front door.
I installed a quick lock on my buddies jeep D-30 and it looked like it was the exact same product, looked the same, feeled the same, smelled the same, :pokinit: it even taste the same.

Does anybody know what the life expectancy is for this style of locker?

I'm thinking it should outlast the other similar style lockers making it more suitable for a daily driver.  Everything else comparable, the quieter running characteristics would indicate to me a more efficient operation and therefore less force or impact being transmitted into or through the locker.  Less force equals less wear.  Less wear equals longer life.  Can't beat the price either.
If it never breaks, people can only speculate how much it was overbuilt.

The locker is still running perfect as of 1 month ago.

If it's only a 7  install, that's not too bad.

Any special tools?  I've never set gears or anything but after reading the instructions, you don't have to know that.  How hard would it be to install one in the rear and then when I go to change the ratio to 5.29's, just pop it back out and then back in?

when you do it the first time you dont have to reset the ring and pinion but if you do a gear swap later on you will have to do all that.
and yes once you load the carrier its like a regular locker unbolts and bolts back in

The only tool you need is a dremel tool to clearence for the locker. When you take apart the third make sure you mark where the pinion adjusting wheel is and the lock tab is. So when its put back together its all shimmed correctly. You can see in the pic i grinded the corners so there was more room

I had mine in for a year now in the ft. Since then i broke the rear locker(detroit) 1 stock birf 1 long w/ring twisted a stub off a long and grenaded 1 hub. i have had no problems with the locker. I pulled it about a month ago and checked the pins still good. I usually wheel pretty normal but run mostly rocks.

I know several people running them in ft with no probs

Install isnt to bad. If you have never had a diff apart its nice to have someone that has nearby. I installed mine when i built and geared the diffs though.
