Dusy Ershim new toilet update

BigMike tore apart Scott's knuckle and extracted the broken birfield and then got back in his truck to head on to Mallard Lake to drop off the trailer with supplies. He then returned to Scott's rig to help Marlin put the axle back together.




Because the group had gotten split up due to the two broken axles, a few rigs had already made it to Mallard and had already begun digging the hole.

Here is BigMike parked out of the way while the repairs to Scott's rig were completed. This is just right above Lake Camp on the Mallard Lake side.

The rest of the group finally made it to Mallard to discover that the initial hole had too many rocks to bust through and a new nearby hole was started. Thank you to our hard working High Sierra Ranger District! From left to right: JR, David, and Mauro.

We got the floor installed and called it a day. Back in camp Steve had his rear axle removed. It turns out it broke right at the side gear and got jammed. So the differential had to be removed as well.

Fire restrictions up high in the Sierras along Dusy were recently lifted giving us the first camp fire of 2014!
