well it all started 2 years ago when i decided that i needed more wheel base, so instead of building another rig i stretched my runner. Stock length top had to fit without roof mods, i will sum it up.. it was a ton of work, and it came out pretty nice.

planning the cuts...

and to replace the taillight pockets

suspension out

F150 rear springs

swapped the axles from left to right putting the Ebrake forward of the axle

jbarrett

i did buy a donor 4runner for the rear tub...

jbarrett

body worked and primed,

and painted, cage back together,

i know this is probably frowned upon but here is a link to the entire stretch with details. if there is anyone that has questions or is looking to do the same thing i am willing to give any help and advice i can.

Amazing work. Thanks for sharing this here. After  about doing a wb stretch for a while I had seen your thread on pirate and it was the final kick in my butt I needed to convince me to do that same to my 4runner.

Wow this looks great & is a great idea for a 4Runner. This combined with wider axles would be the full package at adding much needed stability and climbing prowess to the 4Runner platform.

Not sure why ppl would frown upon this. If they don't like it then they don't have to do it. I think it's great thank you for posting it up!!

This is exactly what I have been meaning to do to my runner when I get some time.  Subscribed to both pirate and this thread so I could find it in the future.  Looks really good!!

I can admit from 1st hand that the longer wheel base and wider (fj80 axles) have made wheeling my 4funner amazingly stable. In combination by far the 1 of the best upgrades.

Stock wheel base is 103.

Do it RS, build a longbed 4Runner :_order:

But then it wouldn't be a Ninja anymore when she sneaks around getting the job done.

Im really thinkin about wheelbase stretch on my 4runner. Are your spring hangers in stock location. Looking at mine it looks like I would extend the frame back a couple inches for the shackle...easy enough...I was also considering moving the backseat n floorboard back the same for more leg room for the passengers
