I got a 92 Toyota sas spool in the rear locker in the front. 35 mtr's. nice truck goes most of places I want it to. needs 39's ( o yea I got longfeilds in the front to ) but I need more power. I took it off the road and bought a 99 superduty 7.3!!!!! but It has a auto tranny witch I really like off road. also 4.88 gears. wondering what is best way to get power is it go to a v8 and be front heavy?? put a turbo on the 22re and see how long before I need a set of pistons?? or maybe shave the head and port polish the intake maybe a valve (how ever u spell it) job. I wold like it to hold 60 mph better and would love it get into 2nd gear low range and light up the tiers in the mud. I am just looking for everyones opinions and the pro's and con's and anything I forgot to think about also. thanks guys and girls alike.

brainlessfool

is it your toy with the 4:88s or your tow rig?
if it's the toy 4:88s with an auto are about right. mudd? if you want to "light up" the mudd get a jeep.
toys are good for soild off road and a 22RE if fine as you would need more gearing and not mega power with rpms.

You can't have your cake and eat it too without spending a lot of money on a engine swap.

jimmer009

Sorry guys. I do actually have Add. But im not a fan of the mud either. I guess i do want my cake and eat it to. Do u thonk 5.29's r the ticket or should i look into a 4:1 case

yotacrawler1

5.29s would be good especially if your running 39.5s. ha. as far as power tho u can get a good amount out of the 22rs and res with a whole bunch of different routes. or u could go 3rz its basical all up to you.

4.3 is an easy swap with plenty of power

TimberlineBryce

I would go turbo diesel, great mpgs, lighter than a v8, and full torque at 1500rpm!!
See you at the Timberline!

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:
