Total noob question but,
Where is my o2 sensor. I have a 1987 4x4 with a 22r and I cannot for the life of me find it. My header i ordered has the hole for it. I looked up one side of my exsaust and down the other side and to no avail It's not there. Where does it plug into? where does the wire feed into. could they bypass it somehow? and if I don't have one, what can I do to this header to make it work. it's a doug thorley 550-y-c. it's the one that is suggested according to their website for my truck. I really don't want to go through the hassle of sending this one back since they don't have anymore instock and could be months before they get one. HELP

The stock O2 sensor is on the exhaust manifold just above the flange the connects to the front stock down tube (short Y to single pipe)

well if that is the case, I do NOT have one and need to fashion a block off plate for where it should go in the header.
Ideas?

Lowes will have threaded plugs in several types of metals.  I'm not sure what would work best as far as expansion and contraction but I would be inclined to try Stainless for obvious reasons.  Hope that helps.

I just decided I was gonna spend the $20 on a new o2 sensor and install it and cut the wire close to the sensor so it isn't hanging! I suppose this will be confusing for the next owner but I will know the truth LOL

before you do all that look under the drivers seat.  literally under the cab directly under the drivers seat.   some in 87 and 88 were there.

If its a fed 22r it may not have one ( at least that is the way it was for 83)
