22r hybrid on propane

I have been gathering parts for a whyle. I have 20r head with 22r valves installed. 20r intake, 22r header, 22r carb. Have new watrr pump and oil pump. I believe all i need now is a carb adapter and 22re valve cover,, and a possible adjustable cam because im wanting to run propane and u hear it needs to be advanced about 15 degree

So this motor i pulled was from an 83 2wd, lost compression in #3 and leaked oil. Was gonna pull head and hopefully block isnt warped.

Hmm... Never seen that before. Almost looks like it may have been cracked and someone welded it up. Not sure. I would take it and give it compression tested and checked before you put it on. I don't think they charge much.

my wifey lost her new job..     not sure if ill have cash, might have to tag along. Thats one reason for this thread.  Trying to see what i dont have to do this motor swap. This motor was passing smog when pulled, wont be smoking people out.

So my question is to the expieranced,  theoreticaly thinking im a newby to motors,  im going to slap this head in this block use my no name header and stock 20r intake with an LC adapter for 22ra carb. Olanning on running fuel for now can i get away with no adjustable cam?  Do i need a 20r distributer? Can a make a 22r valve cover work without slapping? What am i missing in my thoughts here?

20r head, 22r block, 22r dizzy, 20 or 22r valve cover, put it together and torque everything up with new valve seals and such, and I bet its just fine

yes

no but I would run the 20R dist if you  have one.

Can a make a 22r valve cover work without slapping?

yes,  I actually used a 22RE valve cover.

What am i missing in my thoughts here?

weird, never seen that before.

I have a stamp like that on my head and block. They were put on by the machine shop that built the motor to know if it gets over heated. The stamp is supposed to melt off or something if it passes 220* or something like that. Just a way they make sure you put a new radiator and water pump on so you don't come back complaining the new mOtor blew up. Anyways, I'm pretty sure that's what it is.
