You'll find a lot of people just leave their tow rig/trailer at the trailhead, and extending back up from the dam on the side of the road.  This is where I've always left mine with no problems.  If you want a little better security, I believe Robb's Resort will let you park there for a fee, not sure though, its been a while since I've been up there.

I have 5 rigs confirmed for Friday morning around 10 from the Tahoe side. Anyone else want to join? It sounds like we have a pretty good group at this point. If it is your first time in this way I would suggest teaming up with a group there are a couple of turns that are easy to miss and if you are in a smaller rig you may find your self in a few difficult areas if you don't use the by-passes. I will be in a bright Orange 2nd gen 4runner with a black soft top. If you want to join call me 775-544-8777.

I smell HEAVY traffic Friday.
Kinda sounds that way... But it also sounds like there are quite a few coming from the Tahoe end, and a few coming from the Loon end as we are, and it sounds as if there's a decent stagger for departures, which should help with flow...

mudaddict

ya last time we went in on a fri there were 40-50 trucks lined up at loon and into the gate keeper went in at the same time traffic flow wasnt bad i was suprised
