I was going back with the head, torquing the head bolts in 15lb increments, you know the bolt up front by the timing chain?
How important is that?
Well when I was torquing it down, it broke!!!  All the other head bolts are torqued, do I have to remove the head again?

You should be able to remove the remains of the bolt without removing the head......

Na , I broke one once , if you can get it out then cool but if not , it's not that big of a deal
It might leak a little oil. Idk

probably gonna leak unless your lucky

I'm guessing you torqued it to the same specs as the head bolts?  Probably shouldn't be but 15 ft lbs on it.  I believe it's probably more for holding the timing chaing cover to the head for a tight seal.  You could pull the timing chain cover, remove the broken bolt and put it back together without pulling the head again.

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!

Easy out and replace, or weld another bolt to it and back 'er out.

Probably the best solution
Thanks

not quite sure if the timing cover will come off with the head and oil pan torqued....  might have to pull head or oil pan

Mabe there is oil junk in the bolt hole ! You need to clean all the threads with air , try to get the threads clean .
