This is my Dad's new project . It's a second owner 1981 Toyota 4x4 , we're calling it "Good Old Blue" because that's what it said on the tailgate when we picked it up . Something the previous owner put on there . The body on this truck is cherry . This truck will only see moderate wheeling . Plans for it are : 4" Suspension , high steer , lockers , 33" or 35" tires , roll cage , Etc. . The powerplant is up in the air . I have a 3RZ that he wants to swap in , but he may just rebuild the 22R . Still not 100% sure on that . I will updated this thread as we  move along .

First things on the list to go were the trucker lights , camper shell , running boards , rear bumper , big mirrors and mud flaps . My Son removed the running boards by himself and all the bolts for the camper shell :

Here's are two of my Dad's previous first gens , so this one will be built similar . Specs on the yellow one were 4" AP lift , 33" BFG mud terrains , Detroit Locker rear , TRD limited slip front , header , Flowmaster , Etc. and the red was was almost exactly the same .

Here it is at the body shop getting the extra mirror holes and the trucker light holes filled in :

It is going to get the top of the cab and doors painted to match the rest of the truck :

The yellow was bought and shipped to Hawaii and is living happily overthere . The red one was sold here in California to a guy who was gonna put the motor and axles underneath a Samurai and scrap the rest .

who would waste are good parts on a damn samurai

:joke:  I even delivered it to him . I remember telling him things about the truck and he just said "It's cool , I don't really care for the body . I'm just gonna use the axles , rims , tires and motor . The rest is getting scrapped" lol

Here's another first gen my Dad had . This one turned out really nice too but I don't have any "after" pics of it . After this pic it was lifted 4" , 33" BFGs w/black wheels , Downey header , Flowmaster and a nice tube bumper w/off-road lights . It was stolen shortly after .
