Edit:  4 cylinder or diesel only!  I'm also interested in finding a decent early 4runner, prefer 86-89 because I would rather have ifs for what I want to do, but will consider 84 or 85.  Needs to be reasonably clean and pass smog.  Don't mind doing a little work to get it nice, but I will have a lot of things I want to do to it so I just don't want to buy a heep and spend more money getting it going.

Specifically, looking for 79-83 short bed 2wd - prefer 79-81.  Cab, doors, front clip and inner fenders must be in good shape.  Well, I have good doors, so they can be messed up I guess.  Most important things are registration and smog are up to date, title is clean and it doesn't smell like the crazy cat lady from the simpsons inside.  Also needs to be near enough to redding, ca, that I can drive there with a friend to pick it up.  Price needs to be nice too, could possibly supply some parts for partial trade if it will help the deal.

Not looking for a 78 and older truck and not looking for an 84 or newer truck... unless it's an extra cab long bed or has the turbo.

Temporarily (hopefully) putting on hold.  Other expenses are coming up, might be moving soon.  Might finish getting my track bike running soon and sell it so I have some more cash to buy a better rig.
