Shorten frame
Rear shock hanger?
Axle armor
Windshield
Twin stick possible triple stick

And wheel ;)

Thinking about makin a flatbed out of it instead of bobbing.

How could I forget those lol you wanting to transfer everything over to the 88 frame still, bob the frame, stiffen the rear section, add flatbed, etc?

I'm really gettin anxious and need to work on somethin... The 88 frame isn't accessible fit a bit so I think I'm just got do everything to my 85 frame.

Alright!! Finally got some work done on this beast.

So I got the IFS axle under with a Ubolt flip, 54" Chevies bolted up with new front Hanger welded up.

Spring thats weight bearing.

Getting the axle rolled under to get the to get it all aligned and what not...

Final Shackle angle with a 75lb nephew and an 85 axle with leaf springs

Welds... This is actually the worst one. It was getting late and the mig was in a congested corner so we used an arc welder and 6014 or 6013 (cant remember)  Rod

Im hoping to get my motor this weekend and get it thrown in. Matt should be coming over Saturday to help with getting the steering put together, New shackle plates made, Front hanger made and welded to the frame, and get the Cab thrown on(Hoping).  :dunno:

THK Matt

Someone's ambitious lol glad to see some progress bro.

So today was pretty gratifying. Picked up an 84 Shortbed with out drivetrain. So now that i have a short bed frame, im gonna throw everything on to this truck and make it my DD since i happend to(most likely anyway) blow my tranny in my Diesel, awesome.... So now i gotta get this rig rollin soon.

Tomorrow hopefully, if it dont rain, Matt and I will tear down this truck and swap over all my axles and what not over, weld Rear Front hangers, Make a front hanger and weld it on, Front shock hoops welded on, and possibly the cab from the 85 on there. We shall see... I really dont feel like working in the rain... Anyways heres pics.

84 Toy Std Cab short bed, 22r etc etc...

So i pulled the carb off the 84 yesterday and today i decided since its raining ill atleast clean it up a bit/ 2 can of carb cleaner and a roll of shop towels later, it like new compared to before.

Some cleaner on it but cleaned the gobs of Moyie mud slop off.

The women took my phone....

and an hour later.... Alot cleaner than before. The jets were plugged, then accelerator pump was half rusted, and MUD/DIRT/ROCKs EVERYWHERE!

Then the idle fuel cut solenoid harness has been butchered...  :shake_head:

Mudfanatic92

So pretty good update i think. Got the front axle under and on its own weight.

Engine bay shot...

Was looking around and i found this along with a starter bolt broken...

Under and on its own weight in the stock location and shackles. Will be making better/longer shackles and front hanger.

#131
Well I don't think Saturday will work since Matt and I and gonna get this thing moving Saturday and throw my w-series trans/tcase in, better seats, doors, and get this beast started! Would love for it to run and drive. Gonna get some material for making a square drive shaft for the front.

Things to get still-

-shocks

Things needed to be done-

Swap body panels
Double bob 85 bed
Box frame
Finish making front crossmember Just bought one from the guy matt got his from
Weld rear hangers to new frame
Get rear axle bolted up
New shackles - front
Get 22r running
Weld armor to front housing
Locate and weld front steering on(IFS box)

That's all that I can think of for now...

Matt - I guess so, and anything else I'm not gonna use...

Your more than welcome to join me on my maiden voyage :P What would be a good place to start? Keep in mind this would be my first true trail ride so idk my limits :)

Nimyad

Well if you want to just get a feel for your truck 7 mile is pretty good for that. $10 for a day. There's a small rock pile, some hill climbs, some mud depending on the time of year and some nitches to screw around in. Then there's places in Idaho like pine creek and compressor creek. There's some places out past Cheney but I'm not positive where that is though.

THK Matt

I didnt even know we had places out here to wheel LOL

Haha, yeah they're few and far between. Pine creek got closed cause they found a fish in it. But there's another creek up there that's all rocks. It's outside pine hurst. Compressor creek is outside Mullen and its all rocks

THK Matt

awesome, looks like we'll be setting up a toyota run this fall.

Little advice, when you get your rear driveline made I highly suggest using at least .120 wall DOM. Especially if you're going to go offroading with me. I've trashed a couple stock thickness drivelines pretty easily.

What are they normally?

Nimyad

It's either .07 or .08 i forget. Wish i had taken a pic of the one I thrashed. I bent it into a square in one spot and twisted it about 10 degrees. Haven't had any trouble with .120 wall

Mudfanatic92

OK. will do. Until i get duals, i will wheel with what i got. Until then.... :) or unless i get a screaming deal on a adapter and case.....
