So I am getting ready to get the runner back on the road, but when I do getting stuck at night without light is not my idea of a good time. So I am looking at lighting requirments now. I have 5 Hella 4000 8.75" lights right now. what I am lookiing to do is (and yes I know its a lot of lights) put 3 lights on the front bumper, 4 across the front of the roof rack, 2 pointed out each side of the roof rack and 2 out the back and possibly 2 more attached to/in the back bumper. I know its a lot, but everything will be run on relays, I will be running 2 batteries and a new alternator. Now what kind of lights should I look at running? I have the Hellas but I can trade them or sell them off. I was thinking of putting 3 of the Hellas on the front bumper and then I am not sure from there. I was thinking maybe the Hella Micro FF driving lights, but I am not stuck on the Hellas I just know they are good lights. Let me know what you think.

Hell 4000 like I said I have 5 of these

These are the Hella Micro FF

My big thing is lighting and I DON'T LIKE CHROME

i would run 2 or 3 of the 4000 up front with HID conversions then run some LED's every where else or hella 500's all around the roof or rack which ever and some LED's underneath the frame for the rocks

The hella 500's don't put off that much light. I would run your 5 up front 3 on bumper 2 on roof. and get some cheap tractor lights for the rear or some harbor frieght kc knock offs and paint them black upgrade the bulbs to 100watt's and be set

i worry about the amount of amps i am going to be pulling if for some reason I have them all on and I have to run the winch. I know it sounds like a situation that wont happen but a situation not planed for is the sitiuation you will find yourself in

I have a gm 170amp alt I ran all my lights 2 head lights 2 kcs, my running lights, rear facing lights my back up lights my dome lights heater stereo and a cell phone charging on the cig lighter for about 7 minutes while charging a battery on my buds rig and had no issues with jump starting him(automatic blazer 4.3) so I think as long as you upgrade your wires and alt you will be fine. And make sure to wire everything off relays for lights.

My set up is a gm caddy? alt at 170 amps, a bimart battery, 2 gauge wire to my alt, starter, my amp's for speakers, and for sub, 14 gauge wire to each light with them ran off a relay(stock headlights, turn signals and running/brake lights are stock but the kcs and all that). I'll take a picture of it all lit up for you tonight so you can see whats going on.

shitlbuffout-A saying among 4x4 and off road enthusiasts. Its said after damage normally cosmetic to minor parts damage has occurred on there rig or vehicle. Shitlbuffout is :pokinit: will buff out as in the :pokinit: being the damage will buff as in painted over cleaned polished or "buffed" out.

weird, you must have a good alt. the stock ones are only rated at 65-80amps, and I've fried more then a hand full running a smaller amp or jump starting people.

With my lights on and a stock alt when my sub hits (600W amp) my lights dim now. There is no way it would keep up if I had aux lights.
