Oh, is that how those things aren't tipsy!  I always wondered how such a tall vehicle could pull 45 degree sidehills.

toyrova

yeah it definitely helps with the side angles as most 0f the weight is at frame level!

the rear Diff in the toyota is a stronger carrier for the rover and is already lower geared at 4.10. there is a company "rovertracks"that makes a template to fit the toy diff to the rover housing as both are just about the same size! then the company supplies the custom axles using high strength chromoly axle shafts but the only difference is the axle shafts using a 5 bolt pattern for the rover rather than the 6 bolt pattern of the toyota..

Thank you. I like your crawler thats in your Avatar!

toyrova

new Color I just made for the Truck! and its been painted!

kycrawler

looks kind of top heavy any problems on off camber hills.

toyrova

not too bad on off camber hills as the body is mostly aluminum with the exception of a still roof. but most of the weight is in the chassis which is very heavy and that keeps the the weight down closer to the ground. plus i have steelies that are a little wider than stock about 3.75 inch backspacing which allows the track to be widened giving me more stability

toyrova

had to cut out my passenger floorboard as it was rusting.  Im going to weld in a new floor board with all new sheet metal and the have my whole truck interior  xlined.

its cool when your a pretty good  welding student and can fix things yourself with cool student buddies and a awesome teacher.
