Cup Holder That Actually Works
« on: Jan 08, 2012, 06:59:35 PM »
FINALLY, Found a cup holder that works in my 88. Thought maybe some of you might be interested. RAM-B-132U-MC1.

Google it, prices are all over the place. Got mine for around $20. Worth it to me. Swivels all directions, works great.

Same base and arm as my hand held GPS mount. The have bases that work on motorcycle and bkie handlebars, tubes, etc.

It's actually a marine mount so perfect for your boat. Looks pretty universal to me. If you have a surface to mount it to, you can position it just about any way you need.

I tried a few solutions through the years. One solution that works until your girlfriend adjusts the seat is this:

I would adjust the cupholder to fit inside the small pocket behind the shifter surround. Some 1st gens have the pocket in front of the shifter and some are behind it, fyi.

There's always these things in the glove box:

and these work pretty good for the passenger.

but I finally came up with this:

Its an arm rest from a ford explorer that I attached to the stock lid for the stock center console. the cupholder pulls out. the only problem is that cold drinks will drip on the switches below  :shakehead:

I also use one of these in my door pocket:
