Hey fellow crawlers ,

I haven't posted in a while been out exploring as I usually do with my seasonal work. I'm about ready to head back to school and not sure what course to take on getting started. But I have I think decided to look into Computer Science I was curious if any had any suggestions on if I should start like maybe a 2 year - 4 year transfer course go directly into a 4 year program .. I also have a questions about getting transfer credits from my local community college back home in WA , should I look into getting those on hand or what would you guys do here ?

Right now I'm just enjoying seasonal work out and about and traveling across the western side of the states but in the long run maybe a year or twearo down the road I am thinking of going back to school.I'm mostly thinking some where into the computer field right now.  But again not sure if I should go into a tech school for 2 years or four year transfer deal etc. Oh I'm also looking at going to school in Wisconsin Green Bay area, the gf is from there so if she wants to go back to school as well she is gonna go home and do it there. Any advice would be great...

Happy trails...

From a cost perspective, I'd strongly recommend the community college then transfer to a state school.  I know in my case, as I went to CSU-Sacramento and American River College, a lot of my professors from CSUS also taught at ARC.  Same education, significantly cheaper.

I can't speak as to trade/vocational schools

So I would agree with blackdog. I am in a CC right now and am glad I went this route. I am saving A LOT of money starting here. as far as your credits. I need to go into the school you are looking at going to and go into their transcripts office. They will give you all the info on how to get your records sent over. (You might be able to do this on the net also) Sorry I cant help you on the Green Bay front. Just look around and talk to the counsolers at the schools they can help you out. Just so you know I went to a trade school and now I am back at an acredited school.

Thanks for your input guys. I'm just trying to get an idea of what computer field I would like to go into . As I said before I won't be starting school for at least another year. So I'm just now looking into the stage deal. Keep y'all posted.

cheers

I am in sitting in class right now!

I am at a CC for Electronics Engineering. I started electrical engineering classes, but then realized that I would have to go full time to complete that degree. I spent a lot of money on classes that I didn't need. Make sure you can finish your degree and it works with your work and life schedule. When I am finished at the CC, I can finish my degree part time at a four year school.

Good luck.
