tranny dripping gear oil?

i put what i believe is a toyota l50 transmission out of an 82 toyota pickup 22r 4wd etc in my 78 pickup and its puking out gear oil and i mean puking i briefly looked and it was around the clutch fork? but i havent really looked at it much what do you think i should do or look into?

take a flashlight and find where its leaking from?   :smack: :therethere:

i cant think of any place where it could be coming from i mean its over the bellhousing clutch boot driveshaft crossmember etc

Transmission input shaft seal, mine leaked a little too so I replaced it when I pulled the engine. Easy replacement, and I think Marlin has the seals.

how can i figure out what tranny it is? i think its an l50 marlins seal says it goes between the transmission and the t-case is there one that goes on the front towards the motor?

if you compare the tranny to the photos on marlins sight, you should be able to tell, the input seal is "in" the bellhousing as in like remove the plate that goes over the input shaft and the seal sits in that plate

i dont plan on rebuilding it just dont want it spewin out anymore thanks when i start working on it again ill take the tranny out and do that
