A roll of vinyl trim from auto zone. Worked out pretty good.

Well, the front and rear axles both blew during mcr this last weekend. Broke a front ujoint and the ears off both outer and inner on the 10 bolt, kinda expected. Also broke a 1310 ujoint on the front driveshaft. On the way up Cadillac the rear end blew and sent pieces of the welded up carrier out of the rear axle housing.

My dad and uncle after a rough ride up Cadillac.

I need to build this thing to where my dad can wheel it without worries of axles breaking. I need some input...

I have 2 options here, go with built toyota axles(30 spline longs, spool rear, arb front, etc), or.... Go with Dana 60 front and either a Dana 60 rear or 14 bolt, geared and spooled rear/locked front.

Both the front and rear axles are toast right now so it's all coming out. Planning on getting new axles under it soon.

Eddie, if you need someone to install the gears, I can do it pretty cheap. I won't use peanut butter ;)

I say fj 80 front with Billy's outers and a solid v6 third for the rear

Picked up leaf spring v6 rear complete and also a complete 85 front axle last night. Both axles are bone stock. And for the rear are a spool and 5.29s. Plans for the front are 5.29s, grizzly locker, 30 splines, chromoly hub gears, arp hub and knuckle studs, and hysteer. Hopefully this takes care of all the issues. I think that will be a pretty bullet proof setup.

I still need to weld up a new front hanger.  Should have this thing rolling again in the next month or so. Going to fully build both axles first then mount them up. Pics will be up soon!

I'd also rec the 25mm setup to keep the trunnions in check with those heavy tires. I was going thru trunnions left and right till I upgraded

Finally started taking apart the axles I'm building up. Had to move my truck out of the garage and to the back to make some room...

More pictures soon to come. I'm hoping to have both axles fully built to where I can bolt them up and fab the new front spring hanger next weekend.

I just picked up a new cv drive line from sac drive line. Need to install rear drive shaft and do a bit more finishing up and it's ready to test.

Future projects are to do a walk through cab, fuel cell, cut down the stinger and make it shorter, and add a rear seat with family cage.  Hopefully it will all be done before the end of summer.
