auto tranny help needed.

i have a 86 toy with the auto tranny, an my problem is only when it rains it will not shift correctly. if i take out fast it wont shift right, an the same result when i take off slow only when raining, ontherwise shifts fine when dry, ive checked the fluid i even tried changing fluid an filter, an still same thing happens any help will help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of this, I would think something is getting water in it that shouldn't be. They are electronic so I'd start looking for a bare wire or maybe water is getting inside the computer.

Just thinking but does this happen only when it is cold or all the time. Toyota's and I mean all Toyota's will not shift into overdrive until properly warmed. All of the Auto Toyota's that I've owned including my Tercel, both Camry's and both 4Runners did this.

If your thermostat is stuck you may not warm up enough or if the temp is up and down a lot then you could have it shift into and out of OD as it warms and cools. This happened to me on my 86 when I'd drive in snowy conditions.

happens often for me during winter, i live in fresno but spend a lot of time in the mountains during the winter, couple days a week
