i have worked on alot of yotas. i have been told my project will not work. ia am putting the block and head off a 86 pickup in a 85 4 runner. thay told me they have diff heads. i think that this is a lie but can yall help?

I had to take an 86 carbed pickup motor and put it in my 85 efi 4 runner and it runs just fine.

all 85 and newer 22r/re heads are the same before 85 they are taller or something like that and they dont have pear shaped exhust ports

should be good, the motors produced in '85 and after use the same head. whether they are efi or carbed. they are not interchangeable with 84 and older blocks.
