Installed '86 rear axle on my '85, now I have no brakes?

  After installing my 86 axle, my brake pedal goes to the floor.  It will stop but the pedal is all the way down.  Bled it a few times, but with the same result.  Could it have anything to do with the master cyclinder, pistons in the rear or both?  Anybody know anything of this?  Thanks in advance.

Did you tie the brake proportioning arm in the up position?

  The porportioning valve is where I left it at (up) when I had the 85 axle and it braked just fine.  Only thing different I did was install the 86 axle.  I know that on marlin website says that the master cylinder needs to be upgraded to a larger FJ-80 style?  Has anyone had to do this?

Up as in basically bolted toe hte floor of the bed?  If yours isnt thats the problem.  Ive been ablt to get away with attaching it to the floor but on the last 3 Ive taken the valve out completely.

i just cut the medal rod off right nect to the valve.  It doesn't move.

Did you bleed the proportioning valve before you bled the rear brakes?  Air gets trapped in the valve and cannot be bled out thru the whee cylinders It must be bled separately.
