Lip in or Lip out on inner wheel bearing seal?

Total newb question. Searched and found conflicting info.

Putting together my 85 straight axle for a future SAS and I don't know which way the seal behind the inner wheel bearing faces. Lip facing in or lip facing out.

Should it be keeping grease in or crud out? I know the big outer one keeps the crud out so should I put the lip facing in to keep grease in?

Hope someone chimes in soon. I'm out in the garage now working on it.

Thanks!

Keep the oil from getting out, lip towards knuckle, spring side towards pumpkin.  Get eco seals, you wouldn't have this question.

I bought Marlin's Eco seals for my inner axle seals. I didn't know they had them for the wheel bearings too.

Thanks for the replies!

Get it figured out?

Axle seals have the lip facing in.
Wheel bearing deal has lip facing out.

Axle seal is obvious, keep oil in diff side.

I wasn't sure about the hub since there are two seals. Smaller inner and the larger outer. Wasn't sure if the smaller one near the inner wheel bearing was supposed to hold grease in, spring and lip toward bearing or keep crud out by having lip and spring toward knuckle.

So put the lip and spring toward the inner wheel bearing?
