in with the stock spring for 5th gear!

then the 9.5mm (0.375") detent ball

time to install 5th gear (upper) shift rod

right here for a moment and
lets get 5th/rev shift block ready

install the interlock pin in the 5th/rev shift block

[TURBO]

you might have to use a punch or something just to push the shift rod in until the detent ball clicks into place

[TURBO]

next thing i did was put the roll pin in the 5th gear conector-ma-bobber

[TURBO]

then i moved the 5th/rev shift block into a position so that when i hammered the roll pin home the interlock pin wouldn't fall out

then i installed the 5th gear conector-ma-bobber

[TURBO]

then i put the 5th gear e-clip in place

[TURBO]

then it's time for another interlock pin

[TURBO]

make sure the interlock pin is still in the 5th/rev shift block, and that it is out of the way of the shift rail that's gonna need to go threw there

note how the shift block is up against the e-clip

reverse shift rod

i use the angled face to help push down the detent ball

install roll pin in reverse-hangger-ba-janger

[TURBO]

now here's a tricky part... sense i left the reverse light switch in, i had to use the "ramp" to press the switch down, then i flipped the shift rod 180 degrees into it's 'normal' position

1st: put angled side towards switch

2nd: install interlock pin

[TURBO]

now push the shift rod all the way in

[TURBO]

now turn the shift rod over

[TURBO]

then i put the roll pin threw the rod

[TURBO]

next is the Reverse e-clip

[TURBO]

next goes the big interlock pin

[TURBO]

heres where I but the first HD spring...

then I put in the 1st/2nd shift rod
