Peugeot/Jeep/Toyota transmission question
« on: Aug 26, 2011, 11:03:41 AM »
hey all, never posted here before but read a lot of tech here. im building an 86 samurai with a 2.3L Peugeot turbo diesel from a 1981 Peugeot 505. I was originally going to use the peugeot transmission and build an intermediate shaft to my samurai transfercase but decided to go a different route based on some information i found, in short, toyota transmission and dual cases. heres a link to my build thread as of now: http://zukikrawlers.com/showthread.php?t=41068

first let me explain how i got here and see if im missing anything.

1. my peugeot transmission is a BA 10/5, a transmission that went behind the 4.0L jeeps that didnt use the ax-15.

2.  (http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/faq/parts/) i know that the ax-15 is very similar to the R151F and i need to know if there is any way to make a g54 or w56 tranny work in place of a ba 10/5 or if someone knows of a way to use a w56 or g54 to replace an ax-15 that would be helpful as well.

thanks for your help!
