L52 tranny problems
« on: Feb 07, 2005, 03:35:41 PM »
I'm trying to  troubleshoot my tranny problem before I start taking apart my truck.I was driving home and heard a load clicking sound from the tranny, next thing i know theres a hard core grinding sound and i was a sitting duck. Tried to put it in 4x4 thinking it was the thrid member but sat there grinding. If anyone any clue where to start it would be most appreciated.

The front and rear drive shafts spin fine, i thought it was my rear u joint because it has been making squeeking when i put it in reverse. It went away a few of days ago. I also found a worn motor mount.

found the problem, i took it apart and found that it was the throw out bearing. I might be interested in selling it, I'm out here in Santa Cruz Ca. Is a 82' LB, 170,000 miles,3 inch lift,33" swampers,32/36 weber, magnaflow exhaust. Passes smog like a champ. open to offers.
