Im planning on picking up a SA for my truck but i dont know a whole lot about what i should be looking for to make sure its a good axle besides to check if its bent. im paying 300.00. Any advice would be useful thanks :hammerhead:

I would say looking for bent is a good start. And if you are planing on just installing it or going through it. If you're going to go through it just make sure it isn't bent or missing parts. If you plan on just installing it better make sure bearings are good no play in knuckles or oil leaking out everywhere not to beat up brakes and rotors in decent condition etc etc

Also check hubs lock and unlock and that they actually turn the pinion flange when in locked position letting you know that it hasn't been gutted and there is axles inside!!!  Hope this helps. Where you located?

It's kind of hard to tell what shape the axle is in without taking it all apart. Obvious things would be to check if it's bent, do the hubs lock and unlock, and in anything broken. Check out this link, tons of good info.
