auto to auto swap ??"s

Will an auto from an 88 4Runner fit into a 1992 4Runner with auto. I told my Dad I was going to pull mine out when I swapped to a manual and he wants to get it from me to put in his 92 yota that has a slipping tranny. Both are 3.0 V6's and 4x4's.
