electical short?

 I had thought my key switch had been a problem when I turned the key I didn't get anything. If I used a jumper wire on the key switch it would turn over. I then replaced the key switch, at this point I still have to use a jumper wire to turn it over. I had my ground for my cigarette lighter short and was wondering what could be damaged up stream? I replaced the melted section of wire. I have checked all my fuses and replaced a couple relays but still nothing.

Have you checked the fusible links by the battery ?

does ya knows how many power leads come into the ing. switch? might be more than one hot wire.
if that's the case you've more likely lost power on one.  need a wire diagram.

Found that my whole wiring loom is melted.

Ouch  that sucks bud.  Im sure you can repair it or find another harness.

I thought about repairing it but probably will be easier to buy another. So if anybody has a good source on a 85 harness let me know please

Does anybody know if a 88 Toy dash harness is compatible with an 85?

if the 88 is a efi 4cyl and the 85 has efi than it should be compatable
