I am currently running them but I bought mine from Trail worthy fab off of pirate. They are a harder tire, and heavy. I havnt yet taken aired them down on the trail, I hope to do so this weekend. The other good thing about Trailworthy fab is they will also groove them. http://www.trailworthyfab.com/Grooved-Goodyear-Tire-Radial-37x12.50R16.5-Take-Off-s-HMR-TYR1.html

They are also selling a new tire that has nearly the exact same tread as the old MTR's

Does anyone know how to get these tires direct from the Gov? And does anyone know of someone who sells them in the North east?

I met a guy at the CO jamboree and he was running the 37s on his 80 series and they seemed to do pretty good. They were pretty heavy though

they are decent tires for the money.  I ran a set when I was in high school.  got me all over the place.  they are definitely a harder compound, but they sure do last long.  If i still had my 6 lug 16.5's, i would buy another set.  but i got rid of them a while back and now can't find any unless you get weld wheels or have stockton wheel custom make them.  they are good tires though.  don't forget you can't air 16.5's down too far though.  they don't like to stay on wheels when aired down.

I've got a set as well, hook up awesome especially when you run them backwards.  Even backwards they do alright on the road too, just a slight hum.  Might get annoying over time, but my rig doesn't see the street much (or the trail right now either  )

Main reason I ran them is because I got a great deal on them, and was going to the hummer beadlocks anyway.

I'm actually debating building another set of hummer beadlocks and running these tires on my tow rig as well.

16.5" wheels are notorious for popping beads. If you plan on doing any wheeling beadlocks are a must. TW Fab sells recentered hummer beadlocks, they're heavy though.

Yes its nothing new. lots of people have done weld ons on both sides of the rim for years now. it just really sucks to get the tire on

you have to put the tire on then basically take it off but instead pop the beads out over the rim so it floats inside of it.. which is a serrious pain in the ass. Plus you need to hope you brakes clear the inside ring which they should since you are going to run a 16.5 on somthing designed for a 15
