So i checked the timing and holy crap was it out! i was my firing order was way out. It was about 90 degrees out so it was firing 3,1,4,2  instead of 1,3,2,4. The rotor switch was about 90 off from 5degrees btc, the cam gear was off... thats what i get for trusting my engine builder instead of looking my self. so in the pursuit of fixing one problem i have discovered others.... like always. I am currently trying to find a way to adjust my electric choke on my carb. I broke the wire coming off of it and took it off to solider it and dont know how the linkage inside is supposed to go back on. also i ordered a full head gasket kit too because i am sure that it is leaking due to bubbles leaking in the overflow tank after just a few minutes of driving. So that is the next project...

The timing and order could certainly cause the problems you have. If your truck was running around at all with the timing screwed up AND the firing order wrong AND a bad head gasket, I would be very impressed and surprised. Then again, it is a Toyota...

I agree....how the heck was it even able to run set that way....and able to go over 10 mph on the highway....power must have been less.  Your highway overheating sure sounded like a clogged radiator.
