overheating

just flushed my radiator and all was going fine. and my engine temp was way down. now after i drained, flushed with water, and filled the engine temp is almost where it was. and if i turn the heater on it will overheat. any ideas. i'm replacing the thermostat right now.

I'm guessing you didn't point the front end up a hill and run it for 15 minutes to burp out any air?
