i had a buddy that ran a single stock 21 spline toy tcase behind his 4.3 and 700r4 in a 90 yj on 60's front and rear with 5.89's and sitting on 39.5 iroks.  he drove it for almost 3 years like that and beat on it out at hammers, rubicon and dusy.  never had any problems.  he upgraded to a 4 spd. atlas and it's already blown up 3 times on him.  he always says he wished he would have just doubled up the toys instead.  It will hold up fine.

I do like the skinny pedal, and that was my only worry.  I was gonna wait till it breaks then try the Marlin 30 splines front and rear?

I don't think you will have problems with them breaking, unless your axles aren't geared low.  Without the axles geared low, your butting a lot of strain on the rest of the drivetrain, but if it is low, then no worries.  I have video of my buddy's jeep bouncing to where the front and rear tires were actually coming off the ground and hammering down.  he broke a locker in the front end doing it, but the toyota case held up just fine.

wow, whats low?

looks like your running one ton axles, and a 39.5 or 42?  I would say at least 5.13's but lower would be better(less stress) on the tcase.

Id go with atleast some 5.13's to help the tcases survive. Just IMO, It will take more stress off them.

I have to put the front Detroit in and I was planing to going at least 5.13s, I think 5.13s would still haul ass and be a defiant better crawl gear.

Jud and the others that seem to chew outputs/inputs up for breakfast  on here also have been running 4.10/4.56's and thats why. big tires plus 4.10'ish gears = bad news bears for the output.. axle gears takes alot of stress off them.

Your 700r4 will die LONG before your Yota t-case...ask me how I know. :yikes:  Do yourself a favor and start looking for a 4l80e or th400 now...it'll make it simpler when the time comes.  .02

just so you know they DO NOT make an adapter to run the TH400 to the toy case. This is the reason i am running a TH350 behind my SB

They are a notoriously shiatty trans...I have smoked 3 personally, they were all "built to the hilt"....my junk definately gets used pretty aggressively.  .02  In addition, I have several friends who have attempted to use them in their buggies with exactly zero luck as well....just a really light duty pile imho.  I can also tell you that I've broken the tailhousing on two th350's as well, I've figured out that a second rear output brace is a must on them as well.  .02  I run a 4l60e in my current Chevota and haven't had issues with it yet...keeping my fingers crossed.  I will definately only run a th400 or 80e in future buggies fwiw.
