Larger V-6 style front calipers with new brake pads front and rear from DaveZ Offroad

4" lift with 33" BFG all terrains – lots of tread

Front differential has stock gears; plan was to perform a straight axle swap with 4.88 gears

Has a slight rear drive line vibration on deceleration

Cracked windshield

Body has dings but is in good shape

Engine and turbo run strong. This thing is actually quite fun to drive.

Passes smog no problems – has always been reliable

Yes i traded my 85 4runner for it last year. We relocated to Morro Bay from the valley and i took over my wifes car to drive to work since its a long commute and gets over 30mpg. My wife has a tough time driving a manual trans and Morro Bay is full of hills so i traded my 85 5 speed equipped 4runner for this automatic equipped 4runner. My wife bought herself another high mpg commuter car about a month ago. On top of that my kids went to the dentist for a check up and they need about 3 grand worth of dental work and braces........ouch. The poor  4runner doesnt get driven much anymore plus we need the money so the 4runner is up for sale. Really saddens me as i really like it and is a blast to drive with the turbo. Davez did an awesome build up of a automatic equipped turbo 4 runer that i was going to eventually model this one after.

After i got it i added the larger V-6 front calipers, 1" large bore master cyl, rear 4.88 gears with locker, 3rd row seat, new motor mounts, new transmission mount and recently changed out the head gasket.

Sorry i have not updated in a while. I had a buyer and took it down for a smog. Its failing the CO at 2500rpm and idle. Its allowed 1.2 and mine is right around 2.5 - 3. I installed a new O2 sensor and took it back in for a pretest but tested the same. I just need to find time to test the TPS, CTS, etc to find out why its running a bit rich. It really sucks as it runs like a top, smog tests suck weenie.


I am going to be tied up for a few weeks and will not have time to work on the 4runner. I am willing to sell it as is for $2500.00 and you take care of the smog. I require that we sign an agreement that the vehicle is being sold as is for parts. The reason for that is the seller is responsible for providing the smog.

The truck has passed twice with no problems last year. It might be something as simple as a bad connection or a faulty sensor causing it to run a tad bit rich. Like i said i dont have time to mess with it right now.
