Selling for a buddy of mine.....'70 FJ40
Stock engine. Rebuilt in '92, less than 20k on rebuild
SM420 trans
Stock t-case
4.88's
ARB's front and rear
On board air
RS9000's with remote control
3" Rancho lift
Chevy power steering conversion
Full roll cage
Mile Marker Hydraulic winch
Disc brakes front and rear
Dual gas tanks
Full after market guages (looks like a friggin air plane cockpit)
6 KC's on roll cage (not pictured, but they do come with cruiser. All wiring is in, just bolt lights on and plug them in)
33X12.50 15's
Custom spare tire carrier w/ice chest holder
Soft top w/full and half doors
Hard doors, and sides, but fiberglass top no good

This is a sweet cruiser. This guy's spent $30K on this rig, and only wheeled it 5 or 6 times since. He does Rubithon each year, and trailered it to Moab once, otherwise it sits in storage here at my place.
This cruiser runs strong, and wheels through Rubicon effortlessly. It is in very good shape, and shows only minor wear and tear.
Respond with ?'s here, PM or email me at [email protected]
This cruiser is located, and can be seen in Paradise Ca.

The owner is asking $9500 obo. This thing is loaded, start it up, drive to the Rubicon, wheel all weekend and drive it home. Then drive it to work everyday if you want too.

I would probably buy it, do a spring over and get some more beefier tires. It looked like it was in good condition and by all the gauges on it, id bet it has been well taken care of. If you drop FIREBALL a personal message, Im sure if he still has it at his house or if his buddy has it still and its for sale, im sure they would be more then glad to give you more info on it.

I would say go for it. Its in really good condition from what I saw.

thanks man. yeah, I had an emails with him already. good guy. but, they are away at Rubithon now.

So, any thoughts on why this has not sold yet in 6 months? I saw this post back in Feb and have been looking at other trucks more local to me, but I am revisitng this one.

Money, and a lot of people on this board already have rigs, or cant buy a 10K rig (not that theres anything wrong with buying one), or want somehting diferent. :dunno:  Also, where this is located is kinda a small town, not a lot of traffic

all that makes sense. yeah, the price is an issue - more than I wanted to budget. and, since I live in San Diego, that is an issue also as it is a heck of a haul. I can see that Paradise is a ways away from me. but, I feel the need to make an offer on this truck

is it a stupid question to ask if this truck runs on unleaded if it is a in-line 6 Chevy SM420 4 speed manual trans. did I read in places that some of these older trucks are still running on leaded gas and using unleaded ruins them?

robinhood4x4

If it does run on leaded, you can buy lead additive.

FIREBALL - you still out there? I sent you a follow-up email reply on Sunday, but never heard back. Maybe your spam filter got it? maybe you guys got swept away at Rubithon? let me know whats up.

wantatlc

check your email if you have not, I sent you an offer if it is still available
