scratched cd's
« on: Jan 26, 2005, 11:35:50 AM »
Anyone know any tricks to get scratches off of cd's? I come across alot of scratched cd/dvd's but some are scratched up pretty good. Is there anything out there that they sell to help with this? thanks, Dennis

Yup,there sure is...There's a hand held device where you insert the cds,and you turn a handle, and it cleans the scratches right off.I think Best Buy sells them.

Have you guys seen that new thing for CDs??  I forget what its called, but basically its a really thin, clear cover for the reading side, and it stays on your cd even when you play it, until you want to take it off and put it on another CD.  Dunno how good it worksm but its supposed to protect your cds really welll, for like in the car and stuff.

also, a trick that I picked up in the service ( don't ask ) is to take a non-gel toothpaste, smear it thinly, but not too thin as to where you can only see film, put it in the freezer for about 1/2 hour, then wipe it off with a cotton T-shirt, good to go for a while.
