i'm not sure, hopefully soon.  i was gonna do it about a month ago. i had the funds for materials and stuff but i ended up spending it on a birfield eliminator kit.  i got sick of breaking stock axles so i got the new kit from yukon with the super joints.  i've beat the crap out of them and havnt broke one yet! it was a good investment. but yeah i'm hoping soon.  are you thinking of doing one yourself?

Were you running 30-spline Longfields?  How much does an eliminator kit cost?

i was running stock toyota axles for a couple years and i got sick of breaking them. so i got the eliminator.  the eliminator from yukon costs about 550.  thats with stock u joints. upgrade to the "superjoints" (they're like CTM joints. they dont have needle bearings) and those are an extra 200 just for the joints. but its worth it because then everything has a lifetime warranty. if you dont upgrade the joints yukon will only warranty the shafts. the ears of the shaft are what usually break so you're kinda screwed for warranty if you dont upgrade.  you can get the kits through my dads business chimneycanyon4x4.com if you're interested.

you ended up spending way more on that eliminator kit which is far inferior to the 30 spline longfields

I got a Longfield 30-spline super set for $600 that also has a lifetime warranty.  Bobby will even cover his stuff that was purchased used.  I was just curious how the eliminator kits compared?  Do you know what strength the eliminator is good for?  The longfields break around 9,000 ft-lb which is about 500 ft-lb more than a 35-spline D60.

I think I'm a little partial to the longs, but the eliminator is a good idea just IMO I'd stick with birfs, they offer a consistant load to the tires not 4 times during a rotation like a u-joint

the reason i went with the eliminator is because i got the kit through my dad with the superjoints for about 550. so thats about 200 bucks off normal price. and now i have lifetime warranty on all my parts.  thats my reasoning.

hey I'm not saying its stupid, I'd probably be going that route too if I had a discount but since I don't I'll get the longs (someday that is)
