Hey just wanted to check something.My buddy bought a rear ring and pinion set for a 88 toy v-6..Will it work in his 84?As far as i remember the only difference was the width of the rear end right...Hate to pull it apart to find out it won't work...Thanks...shawn :dunno: :dunno:

Yeah Dude... :up: I just bought the same kind of setup. It's a direct swap-in. The V6 diff is much stronger than the stock 4-banger unit. To the best of my knowledge, all 8" toyota diffs are interchangable, and the new 8.4 taco diff can be made to fit with a few mods. :drool:

hes talking about R&P not 3rds the 3rds are inter changeable but I dont think you can put V6 gears in a 4cyl 3rd

Yup...my bad.
You can put a 4Cyl R&P into a V6 Housing, but I think your right...V6 gears may not fit in a 4Cyl housing.  :smack: :smack: :beer: :beer: :smack: :thud:

So on that note what about a rear end in a toco?will it fit an 84?Do you know what the legth difference is? :dunno:
