Hey guys,
I´ve been building (here in Europe  :smack: ) hybrid axle made of toyota centre section and unimog portal ends.
For that project i need some kind of fast R&P. I mean about 3,5:1. any idea where to get these for V6 8"  diff ?

if i was you id look for 2wd longbed late 80's early 90's  pickups,  they would have 3.90 to 3.48 gearing your looking for

i know of several 3.90  complete thirds probably for around $50 each,  but shipping would eat your lunch :aaa:

sound good. do they have v6 diffs or these old 4cyl? As I allready have toyota el. lockers.....

Or is there any other possibility? I mean transfer gear overdrive or so....

I run 5,29 gears and the moggie portal has 2,125 reduction so I definitely need faster gears..  ;)

they are 4cyl thirds,  :dunno:  you could use them in your elocker , the ring gear would go right on, but the pinion would need to be heavily modified

if you changed to 4.10  r&p  and went with some 40's  you should be good

I was thinking about max 37" as it will be also "street" truck...  :driving: ¨

Is there also a difference in pinion length or is it just size o the bearings?

looks like they have the gears your hunting for,   you will need the 4cyl drive flange, 4cyl pinion seal,  v6 bearings,  and crush sleeve
you will probably need to shim the pinion between the gear and the inner bearing,  but other than that it will fit,  the spline on the pinions is whats different,  thats why you have to have the driveflange for the 4cyl

you might see if the 3.70-1  v6 gears would work

Both myself and 86yota have found factory 3.07 gears in 79-83 lb 2wds before, it's a long shot but that's probably the best you'll find.

I´ve allready ordered these 3,54 which seems to me to be the right....

I have hi pinion toy  el. locker front so I will have to use different locker....

ARB ? Or what about Detroit locker?

They are not available at the toyo dealer here and in States I should have to find it at the aftermarket dealer what seems to be hard task...

3.07 is a pretty common 4 speed ratio in 2wd trucks from the 80s to the early 90s.  they always seemed to get the 8" axle.

though supras had something like 3.42s or 3.50s in the 8" flavor.

Honza_LC73

You´r right a bit searching and I found it in spare parts catalogue on RN50    43:14.

But where to get these aftermarket?
