I have an 85" 22re and did a head gasket and timing chain on it.  When I put the timing cover back on I f'ed up the part of the head gasket that seals the top of the cover and now has a nasty oil leak that is pissing me off.  So I want to do the head gasket again the Question I have is how much can i shave the head with out worrying about piston clerance.  I have 2mm bigger Intake and exhast valves with a TRD stage 2 cam.  I just would like to gain a little more Compression. I live in Colorado so any little bit will help.

Thanks
Joe.
Rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

you could shave .005"  with no problems maybe more,  what lift and duration at .050 does your cam have???

i havent played much with the efi blocks,   but i think im going to pic one up to experiment with

I can't remember the specs on the cam I'll have to look for the cam card some time.  I think it is a dual gind cam.  If I take .005" off what would that raise the compression to?  Also do you know which plenum is better the early 85-92 or the 93-95.  I would like to clean up some of the vacuum lines, I read the board on that in the pirate forum but would still like to know more.

.005 isnt going to raise compression much,  like i said im not as familiar with the efi blocks or vacuum hose needs,   my hybrid had about 3 vacuum hoses on it,  including brake booster

i would stay with the early plenum,  go to LCEngineering.com
