Shock mounting question

I want to mount my rear shocks on top of the axle tube and angle them like / \.  On the lower mount, is it best to have the shock bolt running parallel with the axle tube, or perpendicular to the tube?  Does it really matter which way? :dunno:   Thanks in advance

I would say perpendicular since it should put less strain on the shock bushing as there is less front to back movement of the axle when wheeling  than left to right during droop and tuck  :dunno:   :turtle:

I did the above and it works good.  If you dont mind cutting I could post a pick of my setup.  I cut through the bed of my runner so I didnt have to angle them in too far.  I plan on using shift boots to seal up the hole where the shocks pass through (a bit drafty).
