I've heard of a trail in Nor Nor Cal into Oregon, or visa versa, called the McGrew.

Anyone care to elaborate on this trail a little?  :help:

Done it a few times. Nothing really tough, it used to be an old wagon trail. There's a small rock garden to play in. Swimming holes at the end of the trail. The PMC TLCA club does an annual run there, with some of the guys from the Grant's Pass TLCA club. Good bunch of guys, and you'll have a fun time if you go with them.

jefferson state is my local club.  we are in charge of the annual TLCA McGrew run now.

we generally do a pre run prior to the TLCA run for trail cleanup and maintenance.

be safe and respectful when you go.  it will be fun.

A group of us from The Eureka area are going the first weekend in may.
We will be meeting behind the O'brian store on friday afternoon and hitting the trail that evening for a sunset run.
The plan is to  camp about 2 1/2 hours in. The next day more wheeli'n and some people will continue on to sourdough camp for another night and some will head back to california through smith river.

If you have never been, It is a lot of fun and there are beautiful views. The trail is pretty mild a stock rig can make it through with a little finesse. There are a few rock sections with some decent lines and a couple of little playgrounds full of rocks. We will be camping at one of the rock sections at the top of the mountain.

If any one is interested please hit me up. :welcome:

The trail  officially opens on may 1st but make sure that your rig is very clean especially the under side.
The rangers are very strict about preventing the spread of cedar root rot in that area.
So please do your part to protect our trail and clean your rig.  see ya on the trail :driving:

Can you clarify a bit more on "how clean" and what we should look for when cleaning. I've heard they are real strict but I've not experienced this yet.

yosh

i'm assuming no oil leaks?

no trail wants fluid leaks.

as far as cleanliness of the trucks.

there is no loose dirt allowed. the chassis and underbody need to be clean enough to eat off of.

i got docked because my interior floorboards were too dirty, made the mistake of leaving the doors open when i was inspected

basically if anything can drip or rattle off, it needs to be dealt with.

mcgrew and that area are under high scrutiny right now
