So I've always been a jeep guy, but since I finally got my cj buggy done I decided to start my next project.  It will be my own tube chassis design and build with a complete yota drivetrain. I started this build in the Jeanie intro section and decided to do an official build thread in the correct section.  Up until yesterday (1/22) the drivetrain parts I wanted to start with were just a parts list in my head.  So after the 3rd roadtrip in 4 weeks I have my pre-rebuilt drivetrain complete. Let's start withe the basic listof parts gathered so far:

2 front mini truck axles for 4 wheel steering
'87 22re w/complete wiring and ecu
'85 5spd
2 '85 tcases
1 radiator
3 driveshafts
3 clutch disc
3 pressure plates
1 fan shroud
All of these parts are in good shape just need a little cleaning.

So far, including gas money, I have $300 invested for all of these parts. I love craigslist. A brief recap from the Newb post is:
2 seater
5 spd
Doubler 4.7/4.7
5.29
Bobby longs
110"-115" WB
37"-40" tires
H1 double beadlocks
20"-24" belly
5'6"-5'9" overall height
14"-16" coilovers
Double triangulated 4 link
Most importantly 2200-2400 lbs
This I were the "Death Mobile" comes in. The skins will be painted to match the "Animal House" "Death Mobile"
I'll do ALL of my labor cause I'm a cheap ass and I can.

Once I can post pics I'll show you guys the 1/18 scale model of the chassis I built.

The time frame for this build may be a long time because of home improvement projects kinda take priority, according to the wife.  But I want to keep pics and updates current on here to get feedback and opinions to
keep me motivated.
I'll post pics ASAP

All parts were on craigslist but one trip was 4 hours 1 way to pieoria IL and another 2.5 hours to Lexington KY and another was 2 hours 1 way to south of Louisville KY
Even with gas money the parts were cheap enough I came out ahead. And with some of the extra parts I got thrown in that I can sell, I should recoup all money spent including gas. My guess is about $100-$200 extra in my pocket.

You need a 1962 Lincoln to properly make a Delta Tau Chi "death mobile"
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

I agree with both of you but I'm trying to pay homage to something that could kill me and a helluva movie
So some of the other options I had were
Tube Sausage
Snot Rocket
And I'm always open for suggestions. Post em up

I have a little new info. Tranny and 2 tcases I just got on the very cheap are g52 and 21 spline rf1a. So when weather warms up I'll start tearing into those.

Question and answer time

Just for clarification rear steer with yota straight axle means flipping axle over, then cut and torn knuckleballs back.  Right?

With all the gearing I'm very easy on the skinny pedal so I'm ok with running on coast side of gears?

And yet still no help on name selection.

HELLO..... Is this thing on?
