Fast food chicken nuggets and strips
« on: Jan 04, 2011, 11:13:29 PM »
Yup, this is the quality conversation I bring to the table  :gap:

Fast food chains advertise the :pokinit: out of their chicken nuggets or strips, likely because they're horribly overpriced.  I don't fall for their advertising, but I do check them out when I go there since it's my go-to food at a restaurant with horrible food - sorry mcdonalds  ;)

Mcdonalds: mcnuggets - can they be called chicken?  Mostly fat with a little grissel mixed in for texture, wrapped in a bland coating
chicken strips - pretty darn good!

Burger King chicken tenders - good breading, but hard to justify buying since they went to minced from strips years ago

Carl's Jr. - huuuuge let down!  Chicks in the commercials were eating huge strips 3-4x the size of the super bland of the strips I overpaid for

Dairy Queen - good sized strips with good breading

KFC - it's kfc, they'd pretty much sink if they couldn't get this right!

Jack in the box - been too long, can't remember

So if you're going out for FAST FOOD chicken nuggets or strips, what's your opinion on each?
RIP KYOTA

My opinion is you have too much time on your hands if youre starting topics like this... :haha:

But on the matter at hand I like the McDonalds Strips...or they were pretty good last time I had em.. Then I think 2nd for me is BK because I like the breading as well...not too crunchy but they were kind of expensive for onlky getting like 5 :dunno:

OMG you aren't kidding!  I rarely ever go there anymore but I really should find a way to stock up on their BBQ sauce.  When I do go there it's usually just so that I can get some fries and smother them in their BBQ!

Haha, another Dino-nugget fan.  Me and my daughter love em'.

haha.... my nephew won't eat any other nuggets than the dino ones!  We keep him every other weekend for my sister.   My family prefers regular old Banquet chicken nuggets, but I have to keep a bag of dino ones on hand because that's all he'll eat.   Glad to see it's a nation-wide thing!  lol
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:

CHicken is far better then anything with ground beef. Of course if thats whole chicken pieces.  They take all the scrap and trimmings that used to be used in animal feed and mix it in with the beef. Then they inject it with ammonia to kill off bacteria.

I go for the strips since they are usually not processed chicken like McNuggets. I might be a little biased but JIB's strips are my favorite. Plus they have a much larger variety of sauces to choose from than any of the others and they don't charge for extra sauce. They also used to have spicy bites and they were the best but I don't know if they still have them. One thing to remember though, no matter where they come from all of them are deep fried. I don't think they will hold up to even a hamburger in the calorie dept. Plus since they are all now forced to use that synthetic oil they give me the runs.

I dont know if someone has already posted this but the only fast food I know (other than KFC)  that serves a REAL piece of chicken in their "chicken nuggets"  is Jack in the Box. The chicken basket is actually really good and when you pull the breading back it looks like a piece of white chicken instead of some over processed mush that has been pressed into the apperance of a chicken. ....  or star, fry... ehh... whatever you get the point.
