im putting dual cases in my 4runner and im curious about the the splines on the input gear going into the transmission. before i had a marlin 21 spline input for 4.7 gears going into the tranny and it was a nice snug fit. now i have the stock 21 spline 2.28 input going into the tranny and theres a little bit of play in it. the splines on marlins input are more square and the stock splines are more pointed. im wondering if ill have problems with the splines stripping out in the future because of the play and also if there was a change in the style of splines for certain years(either pointed or boxed)

I'm running dual stock t-cases in my DD and they work great for me. I've been running this setup for little over 2yrs and it's held up just fine.

A picture of the two side by side might help us decide how the stock splines look.....
