1986 4Runner SAS Parking Brake cable too short

Hey guys, I just bought a 1986 4Runner SAS and need help with my parking brake cable being too short.

Pics?? Too short to the mechanism on the frame or too short to the rear axle??

If you have the  go with All-Pro's t-case e-brake setup....it can hold any vehicle at 45 degree angle.

A cheaper solution if you dont have the money for the allpro is line locks. I have them front and rear on mine and they work great.

Thats good to know... i didnt know they sold line locks.

Thank you guy's for the advice! I'm gonna do the all-pro when the money is not so tight. I haven't figured how to do the whole picture thing yet. It seems like the cable from the frame to the axle is too short. Also my spring pack it too thick. I'm gonna make extensions for the levers on the brake drums.

Remove the 2 bolts that secure the cable to the frame between the fuel tank and frame rail. That will give you more slack. It's a pain in the but to get to, but it worked for me when I had the same issue. You might have to pry the fuel tank skid plate to get to the bolts. And I believe I used a 13mm rachet wrench.

even cheaper is running your e brake in a loop back to the brake pedal. . . 4wheel braking baby... lol

i havent done it yet as my ebrake is still 100% functional and works for what i have needed it for so far..... once i feel the need i will be looking into this option

i never seem to run into these problems like other people.... how much lift do you have in your runner...

I would not run a line-lock simply because in my opinion they will bleed off.

i have a line lock on my work pickup and its an 84 chevy 1 ton with a 4 inch lift and a heavy a$$ flatbed and bumper, the line lock has been on there since 02 i guess and no problems. in my opinion its the only way to go.
