tranny ?

4x4 22re truck with a g series tranny , it shifts good but ever once in a while  when shifting from reverse  to  first it will hang in gear , it like its shifting back to reverse instead of 2 gear  will have to pull the truck over an shut it off an go through  the gears a couple of times an its fine  will shift  good again , i put this tranny in a couple of months ago till the w  tranny is rebuilt

i no its werid , the last time it done  it  i could let out on the clutch an it was like the brake was on   it would not move  i would have to shut the truck off an go through the gears  an  then it will shift fine , so far it only does it from reverse to first

Sounds like the shifter is slipping out of the notch in the shift fork.  Check to see if end of the shifter is worn or if the shift fork is worn.
Some idiots are too busy knowing it all, to ever learn anything...

You need to install my heavy duty shifter seat and socket.
You will find them in my transmission section.

Because the socket and/or seat is worn or missing, the trans in not complety shifting out of one gear before the handle is moved to the next gear, and the detent spring is trying to push the shift rod back to the previous gear.
